Features of the 2022 GMC Terrain

Design

Unique exterior design is one of the climaxes of the new GMC Terrain. Redesigned for 2022, this SUV gets a premium and bold appearance that distinguishes it from other SUVs. The appearance may vary slightly according to the trim you select. For example, the Terrain Denali and Terrain AT4 have different aesthetic personalities. An Elevation Edition available for the SLT and SLE trims adds a moody look with unique wheels and black exterior accents.

Safety Features

The 2022 GMC Terrain gets a five-star rating from the NHTSA and good safety ratings from the IIHS. The Terrain has active safety and driver-assist features for the new year, including a following-distance indicator, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, forward-collision warning, and automatic headlamps. An optional advanced safety package comprises a side blind-zone alert, lane-change alert, rear park assists, safety alert seat, adaptive cruise control, and rear cross-traffic alert.

Performance

A 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine matched to a 9-speed automatic transmission is available on all models. A front-wheel-drive is standard on the SLE and SLT trims, and an all-wheel-drive is standard on the AT4 and Denali. Interior

Thanks to the intuitive controls and tech features, the Terrain's interior is upscale and straightforward. The space is roomy for both the front and rear seats. The gear shifter is a unique feature you'll admire in the vehicle's cabin. This element uses a series of pull-and-push buttons to change gears. The standard 7-inch infotainment touchscreen has easy-to-use and large icons that support Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. An 8-inch touchscreen is optional, while an inbuilt Wi-Fi hotspot is available on all models.

Trim Levels

GMC manufactures the 2022 Terrain in four trims: The SLE, SLT, AT4, and Denali. A 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine, paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission, is standard on all models, producing 170 horsepower and 203 pound-feet of torque.

SLE

It comes with plenty of valuable features, such as heated mirrors, LED exterior lighting, auto-dimming rearview mirror, proximity keyless entry and push-button ignition, a Wi-Fi hotspot, a 7-inch infotainment touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility, and a six-speaker sound system. Its safety features include forward collision mitigation and lane-keep assist.

SLT

It adds desirable convenience and luxury elements like roof rails, remote ignition, hands-free liftgate, extra USB ports, dual-zone automatic control, and an 8-inch infotainment touchscreen. SLT also adds a leather-wrapped and heated steering wheel, leather upholstery, heated and power-adjustable front seats, household-style power outlet, driver's seat memory functions, HD rearview camera, and a universal door opener.


AT4

This trim is considered the ultimate off-road SUV. It has a more rugged-looking design and several notable upgrades like unique styling cues and an underbody skid plate.

Denali

The Denali adds an incredible amount of tech and luxury features. It contains an integrated navigation system, a wireless charging pad, HD radio, Bose premium audio, upgraded driver information display, and head-up display. Also, it has a blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert, a safety alert seat, and front and rear parking sensors. Optional features for the Denali include adaptive cruise control, surround-view monitor, sunroof, and ventilated front seats.
